Roxie Finley-Gordon, licensed medical social worker (LMSW), has joined the staff of Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital.
"Roxie will deliver crisis intervention, support therapy and education designed to enable patients and their families to more effectively cope with illness, death or other life-altering events," Lorrie Mortensen, chief nursing officer, Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, said Tuesday.
"She will be another great asset to our team by helping us offer the community enhanced mental and emotional health care services."
Finley-Gordon received her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a master's degree in social work from Andrews University in Berrien Springs.
Her past experience as a social worker includes conducting comprehensive emotional, psychosocial and financial assessments.
Most recently, she served as a long-term substitute teacher for Benton Harbor Area Schools and a medical social worker for the Berrien County Health Department.
