The annual "Candlelight Dessert" will be held at First United Methodist Church, 326 N. Lowe St., Dowagiac, on Wednesday evening, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m.
Speaker for the evening will be Mrs. Gerrie Smith, a nationally-known performing artist from Michigan City, Ind.
She will present her interpretation of "Ruth" in the church sanctuary.
After the performance, the United Methodist Women cordially invites the community to join them in the church's fellowship hall for delicious homemade desserts, coffee and cold drinks by candlelight.
There is no charge.
