Richard 'Dick' Hain, 99, of Muskegon, died Sunday, July 13, 2008.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 17 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Central United Methodist Church Trust with the Rev. Dr Randall Hansen officiating.
Interment will be at Fruitland Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Clock Life Story Funeral, Muskegon.
He was born in Cass County, on Sept. 10, 1908 to Claude and Flora (Dunning) Hain.
He married the former Dora Tonkin of Niles, on July 9, 1931.
He had been a financial professional at Home Loan Company in Muskegon prior to retirement. He had been in banking and finance since 1928. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Muskegon, past Fruitland Township Supervisor, Board Member of Pioneer Resources and supporter of Pioneer Trails Camp. He was totally involved in acquiring the land for the development of Duck Lake State Park, and he was a 32 degree Mason, a scout leader for many years, member of the Shriners and an active member in the American Business Club since 1947, until the age of 97. He was one of their oldest members, nationally.
Although his family are saddened by his passing, they want you to know they are comforted in knowing that his life was long and happy. They will carry with them wonderful memories that will sustain them and are grateful for the expressions of sympathy and affection they have been receiving.
Survivors include a son, Richard (Bonnie) Hain of Muskegon; daughter, J. Marylyn (Charles) Link of Bay City; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Community Foundation – Richard &Dora Hain Trust or the Central United Methodist Church Fund.
