Brandywine 10-year-olds win state title

DETROIT – The Brandywine 10-year-old All-Stars won Michigan Cal Ripken State Championship in Detroit over the weekend.
Brandywine went undefeated in state tournament play. Brandywine defeated Benton Harbor 8-5, Howard Township 8-7 and met up with Howard Township in the championship game, defeating them 6-4.
By winning the state championship the team will compete in the Ohio Valley Regional beginning on July 24 in Kokomo, Ind., where they will compete with champions from Ohio, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, Illinois and Michigan.
The team consists of Matt Vaughn, Dylan Layman, Gavin Rasler, Austin Layman, Jonathan Gamble, Hunter Janowiak, Dominic Stella, Tyler Mott, Bat Boy Connor Janowiak, Austin Balos, Jeshua Wiese, Cole Searles and Jordan Hunt. The team is coached by assistant Danny Balos, Manager Mike Searles and assistant Brandon Rasler. Trent Vaughn is the team's scorekeeper.
