Niles' Carol Mitchell honored by ASA
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Amateur Softball Association of America is pleased to recognize the 6,000th coach to register for the ACE program through the online platform.
Carol Mitchell of Niles will receive a gift pack courtesy of the ASA for registering online. Mitchell coaches a 10-Under team in the Niles-Brandywine Girls Softball Association.
Mitchell was required by her to league to take the online course but says she would have done it on her own so that she is better equipped to teach the skills needed to help the kids advance in the sport.
"It was great. I enjoyed being able to re-watch the videos as many times as I needed," Mitchell of her ACE Online experience said. "I would recommend people to check it out! There is so much information available there and it is all very helpful; everything from drills to the minor issue of teaching an eight-year old how to properly field a ground ball. It is very helpful and applicable for all levels and abilities."
Mitchell is currently a level three coach but will continue to review and certify every season so that she can be a better coach to her kids.
The ACE (Achieve, Certify, Educate) Coaching Certification Program is a certification program, developed and designed to provide softball coaches of all levels – from beginning coaches to experienced veterans – an opportunity to certify as a coach with the ASA.
