Judy C. (Derbyshire) Bunnell, 60, of Portage, formerly of Niles, died Monday evening, July 7, 2008, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Road, Kalamazoo, with the Rev. Jeff Whitaker officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, Portage.
She was born Nov. 26, 1947 in Niles, the daughter of the late John and Carmen (Diveley) Derbyshire.
She was employed by Pfizer Corp. (formerly The Upjohn Co. and Pharmacia) in Portage for more than 35 years until her retirement in 2005.
She was a member Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan Preceptor Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, and the Portage Women's Club, and enjoyed reading and playing cards.
On Aug. 23, 1969, she was united in marriage to Terry Bunnell in Niles, who survives.
Also surviving are their two children, Todd Bunnell of Houston, Texas and Troy Bunnell of Portage; two sisters, Cindy Derbyshire of Niles and Cheri (John) Hodges of DeWitt; and three nephews, Jeff Miller of South Bend, Ind. and Clif and Ryan Hodges of DeWitt.
