In firefighting, we are called to serve and protect our communities. It was our humble honor and privilege to assist our fellow brothers at the Niles City Fire Department on Friday, June 27, 2008, as they bid farewell to Firefighter Vince Dixon.
During the funeral we responded to a fire call in you downtown. We, the Buchanan Fire Department would like to thank the citizens of Niles for their many acts of kindness shown to us. We do not know you personally, but you came and offered water, ice and food. We appreciate you concern for our well being and safety. We were just one department, as many others responded, but it is with great pride that we join together as brothers in service and dedicate ourselves to serving.
Please continue to pray for the Niles City Fire Department as they work through the grieving process.
