All-Stars second at Watervliet

The Dowagiac 8U All-Star girls' softball team finished second at the recently completed Watervliet Tournament.
Dowagiac defeated South Haven, which finished third, 17-7, but fell to host Watervliet in the championship game 21-3.
Dowagiac is back in action at the Eaton Park/North Lincoln Tournament on Friday.
The All-Stars will play three games on the Fourth of July – 9 a.m. vs. Niles-Brandywine, noon vs. North Lincoln and 1:30 p.m. vs. Buchanan.
On Saturday the single elimination portion of the tournament will begin.
Dowagiac will play at either 1:30 or 3 p.m. based on their finish in pool play.
The championship is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Dowagiac will follow that event up with the Coloma Tournament the following weekend.
Dowagiac will open up tournament play at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11.
The All-Stars will complete pool play on Saturday, July 12 at 4:30 p.m.
The double elimination portion of the tournament will begin on Sunday, July 13 with the title game slated for Monday, July 14.
The Dowagiac All-Star team consists of Normandy Sharma, Destiny Chapman, Natalie Davis, Lauryn Hatch, Haley Soderbloom, McKenzie Cross, Megan Soderbloom, Rozlyn Rank, Samantha Wiker, Anna Castellucio, Erin Scanlan and Kellyn Daly.
The team is coached by Jenni Chapman, Jim Davis and Paul Soderbloom.
Dowagiac's 10U, 12U and 14U All-Star teams will also be in action this weekend at Eaton Park.
Dowagiac's 10U All-Stars will open up play on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. against Niles-Brandywine.
The 12U All-Stars will take on North Lincoln at 6 p.m. today, while the 14U All-Stars will play against North Lincoln as well today at 6 p.m.
