John C. "Jack" Kuehn, Jr., 67, of Hyrne Avenue, Niles, died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at his home, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Huntly Memorial Baptist Church, Niles, with Pastor Chris Morrison of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles.
Friends may call beginning at 2 p.m. at the church on Saturday.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1940, in Niles to John Carl Kuehn, Sr. and Ruth Edna Willard.
He was a lifetime resident and graduated from Niles High School.
He owned and operated J &R Snack Bar in Niles.
He was a member of Huntly Memorial Baptist Church, Niles.
He enjoyed Chicago Cubs baseball and University of Notre Dame football.
On Aug. 16, 1975, at Huntly Memorial Baptist Church, Niles, he married Roetta G. (Carpenter) Kuehn, who survives.
Additional surviving family includes two sons, Dan Edward (Jean) Gillis of Niles and Ricky Gilbert Gillis of Niles; a daughter, Joan Roetta Hickey of Niles; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Daniel J. (Teresa) Kuehn of Niles; three aunts, Anna Fedore of Niles, Helen Huntly of Okay, Okla. and Mary (Frank) Bolinger of Gahana, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Gaye Gillis, who died in 1983 and a sister, Margaret Horner, who died in 2001.
Memorials may be made to Huntly Memorial Baptist Church, Niles, or donor's choice.
