Michigan tops Indiana West

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Former Lakeshore and Berrien Springs standouts Troy Peter and Matt Demler combined for 48 points to lead the Michigan All-Stars past Indiana West Wednesday night at Bethel College, 91-81.
Michigan, which trailed at halftime 39-36, used a 20-6 spurt early in the second half to take control of the game.
St. Joseph's Brad Guinane sparked the rally with seven points, while Demler, who did not get to play his last high school basketball game due to illness, added six points.
Despite the run, Michigan was unable to shake Indiana West, which cut the lead to 75-73 with five minutes left in the contest.
Demler hit a 3-pointer to seal the victory for the All-Stars, who will take on Indiana East on Friday night at 8 p.m. in the title game.
Peter and Demler combined four 29 points in the second half as Michigan pulled out the victory.
Guinane finished with 15 points for Michigan, which also got six points and nine rebounds from Buchanan's Marquis Hall.
Brandywine's Billy Bussey also had six points, while Niles' Jordan Parks finished with five points.
Cassopolis' Kris Morgan had one point.
The Michigan All-Stars were coached by Cassopolis' Josh Hood and Dowagiac's Greg Blomgren.
Indiana West got 20 points from Triton's Jacob Everett and 14 points from John Glenn's Brody Solmos.
