Thursday concert series will be ‘wild’

NILES – The Niles Summer Concert Series has officially started.
Wednesday nights will turn into nights perfect for the family to come out and enjoy a variety of music this summer featuring everything from Jazz to string quartets to light rock, bluegrass and even Elvis. And "Thursday Night Live" nights are alive with bands featuring rock 'n roll and the blues.
This is the 14th season for the free series – held at the Riverfront Park Amphitheater in downtown Niles. Concerts are sponsored by the City of Niles and the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and begin at 7 p.m.
The Wednesday and Thursday concert schedule is as follows:

June 19 – Oblates of Blues
June 25 – Kelly Jay Band
June 26 – Whistle Pigs
July 2 – Chris Young as Elvis
July 3 – Phil Hornet
July 9 – The Balos Family
July 10 – Second Wind
July 16 – Vandyke Revue
July 17 – High Life
July 23 – Ed Bagatini Sextet
July 24 – Ninth Street Bridge
July 30 – Lake Effect Winds
July 31 – Riverfest featuring Chris Young
Aug. 6 – Lake Effect Jazz
Aug. 7 – Soul Riders
Aug. 13 – Twenty Three
Aug. 14 – Steppin' In It
Aug. 20 – The Strudel Meisters
Aug. 21 – Irv Cass
