Hazel G. Jones, 84, of Penn Road, Cassopolis, died at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Lakeland Hospital, Niles, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be at Penn Friends Community Church, 19107 Quaker St., Cassopolis, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, with the Rev. Bill Bruneau, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Union Protestant Cemetery, Dailey.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the church, of which she was a member.
She was born in Dailey on April 1, 1924, to LeRoy and Ruby (Rerick) Carlisle. She came to this area from Concord in 1938.
On Nov. 2, 1944, in Springfield, Mo., she married Charles "Bob" Jones, who died on Sept. 10, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by 10 sisters and brothers.
Surviving family includes a daughter, Linda L. (James) Green of Vandalia; two sons, Thomas R. (Cathy) Jones of Cassopolis and Anthony M. (Toyoko) Jones of Clovis, N.M.; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and also had worked at the five and dime store in Cassopolis and in rod assembly at the former Heddon's in Dowagiac.
