Cashier, Stuppy named to All-State squad

NILES – Buchanan's Hayley Cashier and Dowagiac's Katy Stuppy have been named to the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan Class B All-State team.
Stuppy, Dowagiac's all-time leading scorer, was named to the All-State team, while Cashier was a special mention selection.
Joining Stuppy on the Class B All-State team were Elizabeth Brannick, Jackson Lumen Christi; Rachel Church, Midland Bullock Creek; Liz Ellis, East Grand Rapids; Samantha Feldpausch, Portland; Jill Fliestra, Hudsonville Unity Christian; Cheritee Green, Grand Rapids Wyoming Park; Carrlie Grubius, Gull Lake; and Lorreal Jones, Detroit Renaissance.
Also named were Stephanie Kelly, Flint Powers Catholic; Lauren Malinowski, Dearborn Divine Child; Victoria McGowan, Inkster; Joni Miller, Haslett; Emily Nielsen, Marshall; Jasmine Padin, Wyoming Park; Lindsey Pettit, Portland; Chanahl Putnam, Almont; Kerby Tamm, Petosky; Kellie Watson, Ionia; and Lindsey Yaklin, Almont.
Stuppy and Cashier have also be invited to take part in the 29th annual All-Star Festival game at Brighton High School on Aug. 2.
Stuppy and Cashier will play in the A-B All-Star Game at 1 p.m. Benton Harbor's Courtney Webb will also play in the game.
The girls' C-D All-Star Game will be played at 11 a.m.. The boys' C-D All-Star Game will be played at 3 p.m., while the A-B All-Star Game is scheduled to tip-off at 5 p.m.
