Fred R. Morrow, 90, of Curtis Drive, Pleasant Lake, Edwardsburg, died at 10:50 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, while a patient at Silverbrook Manor of Niles, after an illness.
Cremation has taken place. His cremains will be placed in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Gardens, Granger, Ind., at a later date, to be announced.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and the U.S. Army will have military rites at the time of his burial. He was a member of the Edwardsburg Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1917, in South Bend, Ind., the son of Delmer and Nellie (Roth) Morrow.
He grew up in South Bend and moved to Edwardsburg in the 1950s.
He was a member of the Carpenter's Union of South bend, Ind. and worked for Studebaker, as well as the University of Notre Dame.
On Dec. 6, 1947, in Mishawaka, Ind., he married Marjorie Ann Cerbin, who died on Sept. 30, 2001.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary and Marjorie and his brothers, Wilbur, Kenneth, Lyle, George, Delbert and Donald.
Surviving family includes a sister, Evelyn Beck of South Bend, Ind. and many nieces and nephews, including his caregiver nephew, Chris (Jackie) Morrow of South Bend, Ind.
