Kathryn W. Hatcher, 84, of Samson Drive, Buchanan, died at 1:54 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Lakeland Hospital, Niles.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Niles, with the Rev. Fletcher Mcaffee of the church officiating.
Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.
Friends may call one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
She was born on Oct. 17, 1923, in Blytheville, Ark. and has lived here since 1941.
She was in housekeeping at Lakeland Hospital, Niles and a retired receptionist at the Niles Senior Center.
She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Niles and Eastern Star Member Mires Chapter 41.
On Sept. 23, 1941, she married Lee A. Hatcher, who preceded her in death in 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Gertrude (Daniel) Ward; a son, Billy Hatcher on Nov. 18, 2006; two daughters, Venita Merritt and Yvonne Corley and two sisters, Mary Helen Williams and Alitha Buckner.
Surviving family includes two daughters, Shirley (Willie B.) Rosce of Niles and Michele (Willie) Francis of Buchanan; 17 grandchildren, Lamar, Hugh, Jr., Anthony, Bonita, Kevin, Willie, Jr., Stephanie, Steven, Ronnie, Nelson, Stephanie, Yalonda, Tiffany, Latrecia, Henry, Jr., Michelle and Buffy; 37 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Arvester Moore of Milwaukee, Wis.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Mother Board, Niles.
