Non-profit groups and organizations are invited to submit news of upcoming events to the Niles Daily Star calendar by either mailing them to the Daily Star Calendar, c/o Niles Daily Star, 217 N. Fourth St., Niles, Mich. 49120, by dropping information off at the Daily Star's office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or faxing information to 683-2175. Submit information at least two weeks before the date of the event.
Today
The Four Flags Garden Club of Niles, will meet on this evening at 7 p.m. The group will "Enjoy an Evening Stroll through Shady Nook Perennial Gardens." There will be a brief meeting followed by refreshments. New members and guests are welcome. If anyone is interested in learning more about the club, joining the club, or would like to attend this meeting, please contact Anita at 684-0520.
A meeting and election of officers for Friends of Oak Ridge Cemetery will be held today at 7:30 p.m. in the Buchanan Senior Services Center, 131 S. Oak St., Buchanan. The program will include a "show and tell" with an item of personal interest or of historical interest to Buchanan. Meetings are open to anyone interested.
Wednesday
The newest product lines for breast cancer patients and survivors (bras, prostheses, bathing suits, head wear) will be shown at 2 p.m. at the Wednesday meeting of the Breast Cancer Survivors Support Group of Niles at the First Baptist Church, 1446 E. The Niles High School Baccalaureate will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the high school auditorium.
The Cass County Republican Women will host a Meet the Candidates Salad Luncheon on Wednesday at the Cassopolis VFW on Broadway St. Cassopolis. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or by a CCRW Member. For more information call 445-0137.

A spaghetti dinner fundraiser sponsored by Bill Baber, Republican candidate for 78th District on Thursday, at Wolf's Prairie in downtown Berrien Springs from 5 until 9 p.m. Donation: $10. Entertainment. Vegetarian or meat sauce available. For tickets, call Heidi Behnke at 782-9252.
A lunch at The First Presbyterian Church of Buchanan will be held on Thursday at 115 W. Front St., Buchanan, starting at 11 a.m. and serving to 1 p.m. Cost will be $7 and carry-out will be available.
The Niles High School Commencement will be held on Thursday, at 7 p.m. in the football stadium, or the high school gymnasium, depending on weather conditions.

A Paper and Recyclable Aluminum drive will be held on Saturday, May 31 between 8 a.m. until noon at St. Mary's Church Parking lot in Niles at the corner of Clay and State Streets. Scouts will be on hand to help unload newspapers. No magazines please, but they will accept old cell phones and used ink cartridges.
