Brandywine JV baseball team sweeps Cassopolis

NILES – The Brandywine junior varsity baseball team swept a doubleheader from Cassopolis on Monday, winning 13-0 and 15-0.
In the opening game, Wayne Marazita picked up the win as he allowed just one hit with two strikeouts over two innings of work.
Ralph Sater and Zach Gerger also pitched and the three hurlers combined to allow just two hits.
The Bobcats finished with 11 hits, led by Marazita with a triple and a single. Joe Godfrey added a double.
In the nightcap, Tyler Hartman earned the victory on the hill for Brandywine with relief from Jeremy Zimmerman. The two combined on a two-hitter.
The Bobcats had eight more hits in the second game, including three singles from Brian Exner and a pair of hits by Jason Andrews.
Brandywine is now 16-9 on the season.
