BUCHANAN – Buchanan's varsity baseball team was looking to carry some momentum from Saturday's Buck Classic tournament championship win into Tuesday's Lakeland Conference doubleheader with Bridgman.

Perry Wahlstrom was ticketed with the loss for the Bucks who picked up just four hits in the opener.
Leading the way was Evan Cauffman with an RBI triple and Mitchel Plott doubled. T.J. Pike and Derek Anglero each picked up singles.
Bridgman quickly jumped out to a 6-2 lead after two innings tacking on four more runs in the fourth and three in the fifth.
In the second game of the afternoon the Bucks held a slim 3-1 lead through four innings. The Bees missed an opportunity to blow open the game in the fifth loading the bags with no outs.
With Bryan Kuntz on the hill for the Bucks the Bees scratched out two runs to tie the game at three. Knutz worked his way out of the jamb to keep the game knotted at three.
In Buchanan's half of the sixth inning the Bucks left go ahead runners stranded at second and third. Bridgman pushed the winning run across in the top of the seventh and winning pitcher Jay Magro shut down the Bucks in their final at bat. Kuntz suffered the loss on the mound for Buchanan.
