Carole J. Maddox, 65, of Bush Boulevard, Three Rivers, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, following an extended illness.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Niles, by the Rev. David Otto, pastor of the church.
Committal rites will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Niles.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday 12, at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles, with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
She was born on March 11, 1943, in Anderson, Ind. to Ernest U. and JoAnn (Miller) Lang.
She graduated from Niles High School in 1961 and attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo for two years. She has lived throughout southwest Michigan all of her life and was employed for 10 years as an accountant at BelAire Heating and Air Conditioning, Portage.
She was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles.
She enjoyed water skiing, card playing and attending the theater. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
On June 20, 1964, in Niles, she married Thomas G. Maddox, who survives.
Additional surviving family includes her daughter, Lynne M. (Douglas) Crawford of Jamestown, Calif.; two sons, Jeffrie M. (Kristin) Maddox of Galesburg and Arnold T, Maddox of Portage; two grandsons, Jeffrie and Kristin's sons, Samuel and Benjamin Maddox; her mother, JoAnn Lang and a brother, Douglas V. Lang, both of Niles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest U. Lang, who died on March 8, 2005 and a brother, Eric M. Lang, who died Sept. 9, 2001.
