NILES – A Niles resident interrupted two subjects who had broken into her home on Bond Street, near Bertrand Road in Niles Township Wednesday afternoon.
At about 1:30 p.m. she saw a small dull silver vehicle with Michigan plates leave her residence, according to Det./Lt. David Chandler, Berrien county Sheriff's office.
Unfortunately the resident did not see the vehicle's plate number, according to Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey.
The suspects allegedly had removed two flat screen Panasonic televisions, one a 27" and one 42" and two shotguns, a 4410 and a 12 gauge pump.
The officers are issuing this description of the driver, whom the complainant got a fairly good look of, dark complexion, possibly Hispanic, early 20s, no facial hair, with dark brown shoulder length curly hair.
The suspect sat low behind the steering wheel, wearing a red T-shirt.
The passenger was described as skinny white male, with low cut brown hair, and appeared to be taller than the driver.
The victim was unable to give any more information.
Suspect vehicle last seen eastbound on Bertrand Road in Niles Township.
The sheriff's office would appreciate any information about this incident. Call Chandler at the Berrien County Sheriff's Office, 919 Port St. St. Joseph, (269) 983-7141, ext. 6244.
