Michael Lee Soyk, 12, of South 13th Street, Niles, died on Saturday, May 3, 2008, on South 11th Street, Niles, from injuries sustained in an automobile/pedestrian accident.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, with Pastor Terry White of Beacon Baptist Church, officiating.
Friends may call beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday until service time at the funeral home.
He was born on July 25, 1995, in Niles, to Dennis Carl Soyk and Kandy K. Neidlinger. He was a lifetime resident of Niles.
He attended fifth grade at Brandywine Elementary School. He enjoyed riding bikes, playing pool, roller skating and hanging out with family.
He also enjoyed working odd jobs.
Surviving family includes his mother, Kandy K. Kirby of Niles; his father, Dennis (Michelle) Soyk of Paragould, Ark.; four sisters, Kasey Neidlinger of Paragould, Ark., Breanna Soyk of Niles, Rachel Haff of Paragould, Ark. and Theresa Sallee of Niles; a brother, Edward Soyk of Niles; a step-brother, Calvin Haff of Paragould, Ark.; a step-sister, Krystal Sallee of South Bend, Ind.; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Julia Neidlinger of Galien; a paternal grandfather, Carl Soyk of Florida; an uncle, George Neidlinger of Niles and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
