Edwardsburg unseats Coloma at jamboree

NILES – Finally, someone was able to knock Coloma off the top of the Lakeland Conference golf mountain on Thursday.
The Comets had captured the first three league jamborees, but on Thursday host Edwardsburg protected its home turf by nipping Coloma by three strokes.
The Eddies shot a 179 at Four Lakes Country Club, while the Comets finished with a 182. Berrien Springs also shot 182, but lost on the tiebreaker.
Brandywine finished fourth with a 188 and Bridgman rounded out the top five with a 193. River Valley (202), Cassopolis (204) and Buchanan (219) completed the order of finish.
Edwardburg's Chris Eaton earned medalist honors with a 39.
The Eddies also got a 43 from Cameron Barber, a 48 from Will Brubaker and a 49 from T.J. Treat. Brody Baucas and Curtis Holmes shot 58 and 62 respectively.
Brandywine was led by Dillon Bailey's 41. Tyler Hill shot 48 for the Bobcats and Zach Rose 49. Chris Rose finished with a 50, Kevin Muntz a 53 and Ryan Hopper a 53.
The Bucks were paced by Leighton Sulak's 47. Derek Blank fired a 51, Dan Carlson a 58, Jeff Jerue a 63 and Ryan Koziel a 71.
The Rangers got a 44 from Kim Vaughn, while Caleb Oliver finished with a 52, Landon Wright a 53, Aaron Goodrich a 55, Sam Loux a 62 and D.J. Walton a 71.
