Buchanan JV softball splits with Coloma
BUCHANAN – The Buchanan junior varsity softball team split with Coloma on April 15.
The Lady Bucks fell to the Lady Comets in the opening game 13-4, but rallied to take the nightcap 3-2.
Allie Hemphill took the loss in the opener. Taylor Monschein was the winning pitcher in the second game.
Amanda Lindamood had three hits for the Lady Bucks, while Devinn Adams and Jill Vorrath both had two hits.
Adult kickball league forming in Buchanan
BUCHANAN – Registration is under way for the new Buchanan Adult Kickball League.
Games will start May 2 and run through June 27 and will be played at McCoy Creek Softball Complex in Buchanan. Each team will play two games every Friday beginning at 6 p.m. Entry fee is $150 per team and includes one official kickball.
Teams may register by contacting Lanny Fisher at (574) 315-8880. Sign up sheets and official rules are available at Buchanan City Hall.
Registration under way for YMCA coed softball
NILES – Sign-up is under way for the Niles-Buchanan YMCA 12-inch Coed Adult Softball League.
The league is open to both men and women, ages 18 and older. Space is limited, so teams are encouraged to sign up now. Each team must have a minimum of 12 players.
All games will be played at Michiana Christian Assembly on Monday and Thursday evenings, starting at 6 p.m.
Cost is $395 per team. Registration deadline is April 28. Games are scheduled to begin the week of May 12. For more information, contact the YMCA at 683-1552.
