They wore bright green T-shirts, spoke softly and stayed on their feet for several hours.
They were the volunteers who made it possible for the first Project Connection! in Van Buren County to provide 125 adults and 189 minor children with information, care and assistance to help them move toward housing and self-sufficiency.
The Van Buren County Continuum of Care is seeking volunteers willing to help at the next Project Connection! event scheduled for April 17.
Project Connection! is a one-day, one-stop-shop event designed to help individuals and families connect with the resources they need to prevent or end homelessness.
More than 20 social service agencies commit their valuable time and effort to this event, but it would not be possible to provide these services without the assistance of loving and capable volunteers.
Volunteers are needed to join set-up and clean-up teams, food and gift distribution teams, greeting and guide teams and child care teams.
Church groups, individuals or community club members, this is an excellent opportunity to take one step toward changing the world.
