Granger Community Church's annual Baptism Celebration was held Sunday at Coveleski Stadium in South Bend, Ind.
Before the Cove, the site of the yearly baptism event was held at Clear Lake in Buchanan. However, due to the large area and turnouts, the event was moved to the stadium this year.
Six above ground pools were set up between first and third bases as people waited in long lines for a chance to be baptized.
The annual baptism was a huge event and seemed to put a smile on everyone's face. Some were baptized alone, while others joined family members and friends and went through the process together.
In all, around 350 people were baptized, including many from Niles. Donna Palmer and Karen Alexander, both Real Estate Specialists at Coldwell Banker, Niles and Brandywine High School student Colton Ditto, were among the many individuals to be baptized.
That's a lot of people, but considering the church has around 5,000 members, it was expected to have a large turnout, which is one of the main reasons the church decided to move the event to a larger location.
This year's event was a grand slam – literally – and already has many looking forward to next year's event.
