DOWAGIAC – Visiting Mattawan won the first Big 16 Conference West Division jamboree at Hampshire Country Club on Tuesday morning.
The Lady Wildcats shot 189 to easily defeat St. Joseph and Niles.
The Lady Bears and Lady Vikings, who are the defending West Division champions, shot 197 and 206 respectively.
Benton Harbor did not field a full squad.
Sarah Crabtree led Niles with a round of 49.
The Lady Vikings also got a pair of 52s from Lena Cramer and Meagan Horn.
Rachael Shinsky finished with a 53, while Kelsey Wells carded a 55 and Alison Landgraf a 57.
Niles will be back in action on Monday at Lake Cora in Paw Paw for the next West Division jamboree. Play is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
