Niles to host district tournament

NILES – Thomas Stadium will be the site of the 2007 Michigan Little League District 15 Tournament.
The tournament will begin on July 7 and culminate with the championship on July 18.
This 10-team field will open up play July 7 with four games.
Schoolcraft will take on Three Rivers at 11:30 a.m., while Vicksburg will face Cassopolis at 2 p.m. Centreville will take on Constantine at 4:30 p.m.
Host Niles will play Mendon in the final game of the day at 7 p.m.
The second day of competition will be held on Monday, July 9 with a pair of games.
The Schoolcraft-Three Rivers winner will take on Decatur at 6 p.m., while the Vicksburg-Cassopolis winner will meet Lawton-Marcellus-Paw Paw at 8:15 p.m.
On Monday, July 10, the consolation games will begin. Games will be held at 6 and 8:15 p.m. The second round of consolation games will be played on Tuesday, July 11 at 6 and 8:15 p.m.
The championship quarterfinals will be held on Wednesday, July 12. The consolation quarterfinals will be played on Thursday, July 13 at 6 p.m. and 8:15.
The championship semifinals will be contested at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 14.
The consolation semifinals will follow at 3:30 p.m. The consolation finals will be held at 6 p.m., with the winner advancing to the district title game on Saturday, July 18 at 6 p.m.
If a second championship game is needed, it will be played on Sunday, July 19 at 6 p.m.
The district champion will move on to Sectional competition July 21 at Vicksburg. Play will begin at 11 a.m.
The state tournament will held at South Portage. The tournament will begin on July 28.
