Be aware of heat exhaustion

The hot and humid summer months are right around the corner and that means it's time to take extra precautions when we step in the sun for outdoor activities.
Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can lead to severe effects on the skin and also body. Utmost care should be taken to avoid this and one should always keep the body as cool as possible, especially if you know you will be outdoors for a long period of time.
These are few tips and technics which can be followed be safe from heat during summer seasons
Be out of the direct sun light and drink more water. It's a good idea to make sure you are well hydrated before you step outdoors. Also be sure to have plenty of water on hand.
Eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible. They have fairly high water content and good salt balance.
People who sweat a lot tend to loose a lot of potassium and sodium in the heat. Be sure to have plenty of fluids, especially ones with electrolytes like Gatorade.
Avoid salt tablets, alcohol, caffeine and smoking.
Try dousing your head and neck with cold water, which will help if it is hot and dry.
Use a newspaper, handkerchief or a traditional hand held fan to keep yourself in cool breeze.
Wear light colored clothes. Use cotton or polyester blends because such cloth material can breathe.
Use an umbrella or a hat, preferably one that also shades the neck and is well ventilated
Avoid strenuous activities or shorten the time you must perform them.
Use these simple steps to help keep you safe this summer. If you notice someone having a heat stroke or suffering from heat exhaustion, call for help immediately.
