Bobcats second at Regional Tournament

NILES – The Brandywine boys' track team came in an impressive second place at the regional track meet in Constantine on Friday night scoring 90 points to Schoolcraft'S 101 and Berrien Springs' 85.
Placing for the Bobcats were Kyle Jones, who took fifth in the shot put. Lance Taliaferro was fourth in the pole vault and Kyle Low was fourth in the high jump.
Chris Ott took sixth in the long jump, while Brett Gilpin was third in the 110 hurdles.
Josh Benjamin placed seventh in the 100, Caleb Frazier was fourth in the 400, Brian Wieger was fourth in the 800, Tyler Weedon took eighth in the 3,200 and the 400 relay team of Gilpin, Benjamin, JD Miller and Taylor Brenner placed third.
Qualifying for the State Meet for Brandywine was the 3,200 Relay team of Weedon, Price, Ricky Wood and Wieger. The team took second and set a school record.
The 800 relay team of Miller, Gilpin, Price and Frazier grabbed a first place finish and the 1,600 relay team of Wieger, Wood, Frazier and Price ended with an amazing come from behind first place finish.
Frazier took first in the high jump and Price took first in the 400.
On the girls' side, Michelle Smith placed sixth in the pole vault.
