NILES – Early Saturday morning a former Brandywine student was found dead, from what Michigan State Police said appeared to be self-inflicted wounds.
The man, said to have been from Mishawaka, Ind., returned to the high school from which he graduated in the early 1980s. Michigan State Police are still investigating what happened after the man drove his car to the parking lot behind the school. He was discovered slumped over the steering wheel.
An off-duty sheriff's deputy, out for a morning walk with this dog, assisted in keeping students and parents arriving for a junior varsity baseball tournament, away from the scene.
