Chiefs too much for Bobcats

DOWAGIAC – The Dowagiac varsity tennis team continued its busy week with a 6-2 non-conference victory over visiting Brandywine on Wednesday at the Dowagiac Middle School.
The Chieftains won three out of four flights in both singles and doubles to pick up the victory.
Winning for Dowagiac in singles were Mike Hoff at No. 1, Andrew Cuthbert at No. 3 and Brandon Knapp at No. 4. For Knapp, it was his first career varsity win.
Brandywine earned its lone win at No. 2 singles where Billy McDonald defeated Josue Miranda.
In doubles action, Kevin Simpson and Dustin Bair were winners at No. 1, Kevin Proshwitz and Kevin Billingham were winners at No. 2, while Dave Nelson and D.J. Tartt were winners at No. 4.
The Bobcats' win came at No. 3 doubles where Ethan Mason and Greg Beaver defeated Evan Bressler and Joshua Jerz.
Dowagiac will be back in action today as it hosts another Lakeland Conference school, Bridgman, in a non-league match.
