NILES-There were no surprises in the Brandywine Community Schools elections Tuesday.
Only incumbent Dennis Cooper and newcomer Doris Schoenleber ran for the two available seats on the board.
Cooper's term will be for four years. Schoenleber will serve a partial term, ending in June of 2008.
Schoenleber, received a total of 850 votes. Write-in candidate Cooper's ballots were not confirmed at press time, as they had to be manually counted.
The renewal of the bond proposal to complete school building projects received 701 yes votes and 492 no votes. Millage was not increased.
Passage of the bond renewal will generate $5.75 million for the needed upgrades at Brandywine Elementary, the Bell Education Center and the Middle School/High School.
The bond is not extended and will still end in 2008.
