Thursday, May 3, our country will celebrate the 56th Annual National Day of Prayer. The theme for 2007 is "America, Unite in Prayer" and is based on the verse from II Chronicles 7:14: "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." A "Prayer for the Nation" written by Dr. Charles Swindoll will begin each noontime prayer gathering.
The Niles Area Ministerial Association is spearheading three local observances:
Niles City Hall – led by Pastor Jeff Whittaker of Michiana Christian Embassy
Niles Township Hall – led by Pastor Collin Seitz of Community Evangelical Free Church
Howard Township Hall – led by Pastor Mike Smith of Hope Community Church.
