Lakeland launching First on Fridays

Lakeland HealthCare is launching a convenient, confidential wellness screening program for area residents in May.
"First on Fridays" at Lakeland Rehabilitation Services, Niles will be open to the public on a walk-in basis from 7 to 11 a.m. on the first Friday of every month.
A free blood pressure screening is included with any paid service. Screenings available include:
12-hour fasting Cholesterol Lipid Panel including results on total cholesterol, "good" cholesterol (high density lipoprotein or HDL), "bad" cholesterol (low density lipoprotein or LDL), triglycerides, and glucose (blood sugar) level.
Nonfasting cholesterol test assessing total cholesterol and "good" cholesterol levels, the ratio of which determines the risk of heart disease.
Osteoporosis Health Screen using the Achilles Express ultrasound to evaluate bone density status in the heel.
Body Composition Analysis, a body fat percentage test that determines accurate body composition is less than ten seconds by analyzing the amount of fat mass needed to be lost to achieve a healthy body fat percentage.
Screens cost from $25 to $35 each. YMCA members will receive a 20 percent discount.
