Bucks remain undefeated with win over Coloma

BUCHANAN – The Buchanan varsity baseball team remains undefeated after taking an 8-6 Lakeland Conference win over Coloma on Tuesday in the opening game of a doubleheader at Memorial Field in Buchanan.
Game two was called after four innings due to darkness and will be resumed at a later date.
In the nightcap the Comets were holding a 4-0 lead before darkness forced the game to end early.
Buchanan scored four runs in the second and tacked on three more in the fifth and one in the sixth and held off a seventh inning rally by the Comets to improve to 4-0. Coloma trailed 8-3 heading into the final inning.
Mitchell Plott improved his record to 2-0 in the opening game win with Perry Wahlstrom earning the save coming into the game in the fifth inning. Jeff Alred was tagged with the loss for Coloma.
Aaron Koziel had two RBIs in the game on 1-of-3 hitting to lead the Bucks at the plate. Wes Chandler led the Comets with 3-of-4 hitting and Dave Swihart was 2-for-4 at the dish for the Comets.
