Niles JV baseball team victorious

NILES – The Niles junior varsity baseball team hosted Coldwater on Saturday and came away with two wins.
In the first game, Niles scored in every inning to defeat Coldwater 12-9.
Billy Siderits picked up win No. 3 for the season on the mound.
Top Viking hitters were Alec Taylor (3-for-4), Tyler Jackson(2- for-4), Siderits (2-for-3) and Dominique Pompey (2-for-2, including his fourth home run of the season).
In game two, the Vikings produced five runs in the first inning and never looked back, winning 8-1.
Tommy Flynn picked up the pitching win and Tyler Jackson recorded a save.
Cody Maynard went 3-for-3 at the plate for Niles. Also collecting hits for the Vikes were Andrew Brawley, Pompey, Sean Gordon, Siderits and Justin Stroud.
The Vikings travel to Portage Northern today.
