NILES – Snow, sleet and rain forced not one, but two more days of cancellations for the Niles, Brandywine and Buchanan athletic teams.
Wednesday's contests were wiped out by several inches of snow by lunchtime, which was followed by sleet and rain.
Canceled on Wednesday was the Niles varsity softball game against South Bend Washington. Niles' soccer and tennis matches against St. Joe. Brandywine's tennis match against Edwardsburg and Buchanan's tennis match against Dowagiac and the Bucks' track and field meet at Edwardsburg.
So far, the only rescheduled event is the Dowagiac-Buchanan tennis match, which will take place on Monday, April 14 at 4 p.m.
Today's forecast still won't be the best, so be sure to check with the schools or coaches later this afternoon, as games have not been canceled as of this morning. Niles baseball and softball games have been canceled today.
Friday's forecast calls for much better conditions, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-50s.
