Bethel’s O’Keefe ties for first at outdoor meet

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Bethel College men's and women's track teams got their outdoor seasons off to a flying start in the Defiance Invitational Meet on Saturday.
The Bethel men placed first of 15 teams competing, scoring 142.50 points while the Bethel ladies finished second in a field of 15 teams at the meet, scoring 138 points.
The Bethel women's team enjoyed four first place performances.
Dowagiac freshman Ann O'Keefe tied for first place with teammate Caitlyn Gager in the pole vault, both clearing 11-foot-6.
O'Keefe was also a member of the second place finishing 400-meter relay team which posted a time of 51.86.
O'Keefe was joined on the team by Kate Bishop, Jessie Spearman and Emily Weaver.
The Bethel College track teams return to action next Saturday, March 31st, when they will be competing at the Goshen Invitational.
