DMS teams toppled

The Dowagiac Middle School seventh grade Black team dropped a 16-25, 26-24 and 13-15 decision to host St. Joe Upton Wednesday afternoon.
"They were close games and the girls worked hard," Dowagiac coach Sara Eaton said.
Caroline Mitchell and Taylor Meiser both finished with eight points to lead the Chieftains. Dowagiac also got seven points from Regina Kennedy and Katie Hale.
The Lady Bears also defeated the eighth grade Black team. Dowagiac fell to Upton, 21-25, 19-25 and 10-15.
Bria Brookins, Erika Recollett, Ashley McElheny and Kadesha Wilson were the top servers.
The Lady Bears defeated the seventh grade Orange team as well.
Dowagiac fell to St. Joe, 25-16, 20-25 and 13-15.
Megan Hojara led the Chieftains with 18 points. Dowagiac also got 16 points from Alyssa Groth and nine points from Shelby Bruens.
Beth Losey led Dowagiac with four kills. Alyssa Hosbein had two kills and two blocks.
