The Dowagiac Middle School eighth grade Orange and Black teams were swept by visiting St. Joe Upton on Thursday afternoon.
The Orange team lost to Upton, 26-28, 23-25 and 15-9, while the Orange team was defeated by the Lady Bears, 13-25, 13-25 and 13-15.
Victoria Robison and Brenesha Jones were the leading hitters for the Chieftains.
Robison and Erin Stanton led the team in blocks.
Top servers for the Orange team were Ashley Charles, Tara Sova, Bria Brookins, Ashley McElheny and Ashley Pritchard.
The seventh grade Orange team dropped a 22-25, 22-25 and 15-8 decision to the Lady Bears on Thursday.
Alyssa Hosbein led the team with 14 points, while Shelby Bruens added seven points.
No results from the seventh grade Black team's match with St. Joe Upton were available at press time.
