DMS spikers defeated by Niles Ring Lardner

The seventh grade Black team was defeated by Niles Ring Lardner in junior high volleyball on Tuesday.
The Chieftains were defeated by the Lady Vikings, 20-25, 15-25 and 7-15.
Nikki Witwer led Dowagiac with six points. Katie Hale added five points.
The eighth grade Black team was also defeated by Ring Lardner, 21-25, 9-25 and 8-15.
Top servers were Ashley Charles, Shatesha White, Liz Huff and Alyssa Batty.
"The girls really faced a good team and played well," Dowagiac coach Dawn East said. "Niles had tough serving. We did lots of good things. I was glad to see the girls working on the bump, set and spike."
Last Thursday, the seventh grade hosted South Haven and picked up a 25-13, 25-9 and 15-12 victory.
Alyssa Hosbein led all scorers with 15 points. Megan Hojara added 12 points, while Allison Hassle finished with eight points.
Top passers were Rylie Cox and Correshia Rodgers.
