Lake-effect snow brought Cass County to a standstill.
Dowagiac received eight inches in the last 24 hours, according to weather data recorded at the city wastewater treatment plant.
Tuesday's storm canceled school across the county, including Dowagiac, Cassopolis, Edwardsburg and Marcellus. Southwestern Michigan College also called off classes today. Inclement weather also wiped out last night's sporting events and closed the Cass County Council on Aging and Cass Transit today.
