NILES – The black and white photography of Niles resident Todd Keller will be exhibited the month of February at Riverfront Cafe.
The majority of Keller's work explores in unique angles the art and architecture – and sometimes the two mingling together – of downtown Chicago. Other images, in contrast to the hard-edged city shots, are of Michigan landscapes.
"I have a love for Chicago with its architecture, sculptures and many fascinating cemeteries," Keller stated in an email. "My aspiration when looking at my photography is to arouse an emotion. Whether disturbing or whimsical, I'm optimistic you will not find it boring."
Keller, who has lived in Niles for nearly twenty years, also does his own framing and matting of his images.
"On occasion, color is necessary to convey the true mood of the photograph, however my passion is in black and white film photography," he added.
Keller's exhibit opens Saturday, Feb. 2, and will be on display at Riverfront Cafe, 219 N. Front St. in downtown Niles, through the end of the month.
