Three manager interviews Monday

A special meeting of Dowagiac City Council has been scheduled for Monday, Jan. 29, to conduct interviews with three city manager candidates, Todd Campbell, Keith Van Beek and Dale Martin.
Interviews are scheduled:
2:30 p.m. – Todd Campbell
4 p.m. – Keith Van Beek
6 p.m. – Dale Martin
Campbell has served as assistant city manager for Sturgis in neighboring St. Joseph County since May 2003. He also served as assistant city manager for Greenville for three years and the Village of Homer for two years. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from Hope College and a master's of public administration degree from Central Michigan University.
Van Beek has served as assistant to the mayor of the City of Kentwood since 2000. For two years prior to his current position he served as city clerk. He has a bachelor's degree in political science and criminal justice from Calvin College and an MPA from Grand Valley State University.
Martin has served as Linden city manager since November 1998. Linden is south of Flint. Martin also served as Lexington village manager for more than two years. He has a bachelor's degree in political science from Alma College and an MPA from Oakland University.
Residents may submit questions for the candidates through City Clerk Jim Snow's office until 1:30 p.m. Monday. Questions will be screened as appropriate under federal EEO laws.
The candidates are seeking to succeed William H. Nelson Jr., who is returning to Ohio after 10 years at City Hall.
The city's open house for Nelson takes place today, his last at City Hall, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the second-floor conference room adjacent to the council chamber.
