Dowagiac Mayor Donald D. Lyons and City Council will be hosting an afternoon reception honoring William H. Nelson Jr. for his contribution as city manager over the past 10 years.
The reception will be held at City Hall on Friday, Jan. 26, from 3 to 6 p.m.
Members of the local community are encouraged to stop in during those hours.
Light refreshments will be served.
Nelson tendered his resignation effective Feb. 2 to accept a position as city manager in Miamisburg, Ohio.
He will be moving with his family to the Miamisburg area in the near future.
The reception on the 26th will be a celebration of the growth and progress that the City of Dowagiac enjoyed under Nelson's leadership.
City Hall is located at 241 S. Front St.
The reception will take place in the second-floor conference room.
