VICKSBURG – The Dowagiac freshmen volleyball team went 0-8 at the Vicksburg Invitational on Saturday.
Vicksburg (13-20, 4-20), Gull Lake (16-20, 12-20), Plainwell (18-20 and 6-20) and Paw Paw (12-20, 10-20) all defeated the Chieftains.
"Overall we improved throughout the day, but couldn't pull off a win," Dowagiac coach Emily Frontczak said.
Alyssa Greenwood led the team with nine aces. Casey Collins finished the tournament with four aces. Taylor Gross and Marquira Smith each had three aces.
The Chieftains return to action on Thursday when they host Vicksburg at 5:30 p.m.
