Rolandis Russell captured the boys' 12-13 year-old division of the annual Dowagiac Elks Club Hoop Shoot on Saturday at Dowagiac Middle School. Russell, a seventh grader at DMS, hit 20 out of 25 free throw attempts to win the division.
Cassopolis' Lance Sheteron won the boys' 8-9 division, while Tanner Eubank of Mattawan won the boys' 10-11 title.
Kristyn Turner, a sixth grader at Dowagiac's Patrick Hamilton Elementary, won the girls' 12-13 division.
All the local winners now advance to district competition at the Dow Center on the campus of Hope College in Holland on Jan. 6, 2007.
