NILES – Former Niles High School football coach Dave Janicki wants every high school football player to have the opportunity to move on in their career.
That's why, for the fifth straight year, Janicki will be holding a recruiting night on Monday, Dec. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Niles Inn and Conference Center.
Over 40 Division 2, Division 3 and NAIA colleges have been invited from six different states, which include Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Some of the colleges invited include Wayne State, Ferris State, Grand Valley State University, Hope College, Alma College and Adrian College.
There are over 60 high schools from Indiana and Michigan invited to attend.
"This gives the athlete and their parents an opportunity to meet with numerous coaches from different schools," Janicki said.
There is no cost for high school players or their parents, however, athletes are encouraged to bring transcripts and game tapes.
"We've had a lot of success with this in the past five years and it just continues to grow," Janicki, now the Athletic Director and head football coach at Hartford High School said.
Last year, Janicki said over 200 high school students attended.
