Veterans Day observed in city on Saturday, Nov. 11

Veterans Day will be observed in Dowagiac Saturday, Nov. 11, with a ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at the American Legion Home, 806 N. Orchard St., according to Lawrence O. Starrett, commander of Doe-Wah-Jack Post 563.
The veterans ceremony will begin with the presentation of arms and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an invocation by Chaplain Lee Reels.
Commander Starrett will serve as master of ceremonies. Bert Smith will read the names of servicemen killed in World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
Participating in the ceremonies will be the American Legion Post #563 and its auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #89 and its auxiliary.
The public is invited to attend this observance in memory of all veterans.
