Ashley Smith and Josh Deuel have been named the Daily News Athletes of the Week for Oct. 9-14.
Smith finished second at No. 2 singles at the Division 4 Regional Tennis Tournament on Thursday, Oct. 12.
Smith was 16-10 on the year.
Deuel scored a pair of goals against Paw Paw on Oct. 10. The Chieftains defeated the Redskins 9-3.
Each week, the Daily News will select two Athletes of the Week.
The selections come from nominations from the Dowagiac Union High School coaching staff.
